Down below are few tips that will help you breakthrough your current comfort zone and live a better life.

Get up from your couch
You can only change your life by constantly challenging yourself. Not by being in misconception that “one day your life will change without acting to bring that change.”

If you really want to change your life, but you are not taking necessary actions to bring that change, then you are doing injustice with yourself.

As Steve Jobs said in Stanford Commencement –
“You’ve got to find what you love. And that is as true for your work as it is for your lovers. Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it. And, like any great relationship, it just gets better and better as the years roll on. So keep looking until you find it. Don’t settle.”

Learn to overcome pain not avoid it 
Discover the reason behind your emotional pain instead of avoiding it. It’s common that if someone feels emotional pain they try to avoid it.

We do various things to avoid pain like watching t.v, hanging out with friends, listening to our favorite sound track etc. By being engaged in these kind of activities we might forget about our pain for sometime but it comes backs again. Pain persists.

To really overcome your pain you need to have a better understanding of it, then only you’ll be able to shift your perspective from negative to positive.

Do not be direction less by the demands and distraction of the world
Do things that matters to you, that makes you happy, that makes you come alive. You don’t need to be a person who keeps fulfilling other people needs or desires and forgets about himself. It might make you good in the eyes of the people around you, but you will remain unfulfilled and unsatisfied within.

Clear the clutter. Do what you love, not what others want you to do. Keep yourself aligned and focused towards your goals. Do things that are meaningful.

Be clear about your values
We are mostly unclear about our values. We keep doing so called ‘necessary’tasks without any real meaning or purpose attached to it, which we eventually end up regretting later.

To live consistently, you need to discover the things that you value most in life, and commit to live by them every single day.

If you have struggled to make decisions in past, it’s probably due to unclear values.

Believe in yourself
Don’t think that you can’t achieve something or do something significant because you’re not that mentally strong or physically fit. You can.

Do not let people affect you
Be bold enough to make a stand, to rebel against the people who judge and criticize you. People who are in a habit of demoralizing others, are somewhere insecure by themselves or by their current situation, so you should not take them seriously.

Do not let fear hold you back and demoralize your motivation
The reason most people do not pursue their passion is fear. They fear of failing, loosing people’s support, wasting their time or they get overwhelmed by the learning process and soon they give up.

When you begin the journey to uncover your life’s purpose you need to be explicit that fear will be their waiting for you, on every twists and turns. It will try to stop you, making false claims, that it is saving you from danger, it will try to convince you, to return back home (in your safety net), where you can feel safe, and unchallenged, but don’t get convinced.

Do not make extreme rules
People are fond of rules. They hold themselves accountable to feel the pleasure until they accomplish something. But you don’t have to do that, because if you start postponing to feel the joy every time, then you can never be contented with your life.

In a particular situation if something doesn’t turned out the way you have imagined, then instead of being dissatisfied with it, you should rather try to be happy, by focusing only on positives. By making this a habit you will always be happy and satisfied with your life.

Express and contribute
You should express yourself through your passion and share your work with others. You should not be the person who remains in his/her shell, rather be the person who embraces his skills and what life has to offer.

Don’t be a mediocre person who live his life based on other people beliefs, and choose to stay in his safety net. Instead embrace your creative side and share it with the world.

Be grateful
Be thankful with whatever you have in your life. The food you eat, the kind of family you have, the life you live, your accomplishments, your failures, everything.

Make a habit of writing down the things that you are grateful for in your journal. Their will be always something that you can be grateful for.

It’s not easy to turn your dream into a reality, but you should keep pushing yourself forward in spite of fear, doubt and limitations.
